This issues has resulted to different reactions and opinions of filipino netizens mainly because there are over 130,000 Filipinos in Hong Kong working as domestic helpers. A survey in Quezon National High School showed that there are about 280 students with OFW parents working in Hong Kong. This is about six(6)percent of the student population. It may not be that big, but the anxiety they feel can be connected to everyone's heart. Because of the protest, the parents of these students are affected and it has domino effects to them. On the contrary, many Filipinos in the country have admired the bravery of the activist in Hong Kong especially because most of them are the young ones. One of these activists is Hong Kong's Joshua Wong. Wong is a student activist and a politician and the founder of HK student's activist group called Scholarism. Similarly, there are a lot of underrated youth activist in the Philippines who got numbers of hate and told not to meddle with the business of the government from the Filipinos before. Most of them ignored the will of these activists and acted blind about the issues that they fought for. Now that the people of Hong Kong are being united as one to fight for what they think was right, people from the Philippines are asking for activists to be brave like what young people of Hong Kong has been showing lately. The Filipinos need to open their eyes and see that there are also lots of people who are brave enough to speak up for everyone. Youth activists from Hong Kong proved their aim to make a change to their country and we, Filipinos, could also do the same if only we want to. But, we Filipinos are peace-loving and respectful. We always resort to solving disputes in peaceful way. After all-going to the streets and protest may have both positive and negative effect. And if we feel nothing will change when we engage in it, why inlove ourselves in the first place?
